The dsTest Offline Charging System (OFCS) Emulator provides Mobile Subscriber offline charging services for PGW testing in LTE networks and CSCF testing in the IMS network. Use the OFCS Emulator to validate CTF performance and credit policy compliance in a realistic network environment with a mix of subscriber profiles and services, replicating a deployed configuration.
Network Interface Support
Both core network Ga and IMS Rr/Gz interfaces are supported and can be used simultaneously to service charging requests and reports for a shared subscriber database. The simulated OFCS server supports the following charging scenarios:
- Event Based Charging
- Session Based Charging
The OFCS Emulator collects and stores CDRs in various formats. dsTest can validate the content and the values contained in the records received against templates defined by the user in the subscriber configurations. Users have the option to collect all CDRs or only those with which fail validation. The CDRs are stored in a SQLite database, but users also have the option to store the raw data.
One OFCS Emulator can support any mixture of the interfaces shown in the diagram above, up to a maximum of 6000 client connections. Multiple OFCS Emulators can be instantiated on a single server. In this mode each emulator can support multiple interfaces, up to an aggregate of 6000 client connections across all emulators. The OFCS nodes are fully independent and their subscriber configurations may be independent, overlap, or be duplicated.
