McKinney, Tx (Oct 23, 2015) – Developing Solutions adds a S1 Dictionary to their General References to aid S1 testing.

dsTest supports the S1-MME interface between the Mobility Management Entity (MME) and eNodeB, and the S1-U interface between the Serving Gateway (SGW) and eNodeB.  The S1 Interface Application, along with other dsTest interface applications, provides dsTest users with complete EPC testing capability.  Our eNodeB, MME, SGW, PGW, and Home Subscriber Server (HSS) emulators support end-to-end testing of IP connectivity to LTE access.  The S1 Interface Application includes support of the S1-AP Elementary Procedures as defined in TS 36.413 and TS 23.401.   Read more about our S1 Interface Application.

About the S1 Dictionary

The S1 Dictionary provides a valuable S1 research source as a comprehensive reference to aid the configuration of S1 test scenarios.  With the dictionary, a test designer can determine information regarding each message:

            Message name and code;

            A short description of how the message is used;

            Applicable technical specifications;

            A list of all mandatory/optional Information Elements (IEs) allowed in the message.

In addition to the message data, information about IEs allowed within a specific message can also be researched:

           A list of applicable IEs names with a brief description of the IE;

           IE length;

           Mandatory or optional status of the IEs within the message.

SmartIE

Our SmartIE feature allows IEs to be inserted, deleted, or replaced in S1 messages in real-time test scenarios.  With SmartIE, you have complete control over the addition, removal, and modification of the IEs in messages, with the ability to position the modified IE in the message as desired.

Developing Solutions provides three levels of support for the S1 Interface: Basic, Advanced, and LCS.  For more S1-AP information to determine how dsTest can simplify your S1 testing, see our S1 Interface Application.

About dsTest

Developing Solutions growing collection of protocol applications and EPC testing tools gives dsTest the ability to identify problems and potential bottlenecks in the lab before they show up in the network.

dsTest runs on several distributions of Linux and is designed to take advantage of the latest processor and virtualization technology available with COTS hardware in order to provide high performance and capacity, and assists carriers and vendors in their drive toward network function virtualization (NFV) and software defined networks (SDN).  Wireless Service Providers and Network Equipment Manufacturers rely on dsTest to test performance, compliance, and reliability of their network devices and architectures.  dsTest is accompanied by the dsClient graphic user interface (GUI), which allows easy configuration and control of the tool, and provides live operational measurements monitoring in chart or tabular form.

dsTest further simplifies the process of testing the signaling core with multiple advanced testing features, such as SmartControl, SmartEvents, and Diameter Dictionary validation.
