dsTest supports both server emulation and client interface simulator capabilities for the 3GPP LTE Tsp Diameter interface. The Machine Type Communication Interworking Function (MTC-IWF) acts as the Diameter server, the network element handling action requests and sending notifications. The Service Capability Server (SCS) acts as the Diameter client, the network element requesting actions and handling notifications from the MTC-IWF. Use our Tsp Interface application on our SCS node simulator to test the capacity and performance of MTC-IWF network nodes. Our MTC-IWF node simulator can be used to test the capacity and performance of the SCS.
Customize Tsp messages flows using our SmartEvents and SmartAVP features. If you are testing CIoT/NB-IoT, dsTest can surround a CIoT Serving Gateway Node (C-SGN) with all the interfaces needed to verify the functions required of the C-SGN. The Tsp reference point is stateless, and is specified in 3GPP TS 29.368.
Comprehensive sets of Operational Measurements for the Tsp Interface, Diameter, and socket level are collected at user-specified intervals and stored in a SQLite database on the dsTest server. Real-time measurements may be retrieved through our dsClient CLI interface or graphed via our dsClient GUI interface.

The Diameter application ID assigned to the Tsp interface application is 16777309, and the vendor identifier is 10415 (3GPP).
SCS Testing (Server Emulation)
The MTC-IWF node emulator initiates the appropriate responses when appropriate, eliminating the need to dedicate a production server to lab activities.
MTC-IWF Testing (Client Simulation)
Our Tsp Interface application on our SCS node simulates a SCS interface to determine the processing capacity and performance of the MTC-IWF. The Tsp interface application allows users to validate SCS performance and capacity in a realistic network environment, replicating the deployment configuration. Execute timed chains of test events with a run-time command or during an automated test using our SmartEvents feature to trigger SCS-initiated procedures.
Multiple SCS and MTC-IWF nodes can be instantiated on a single dsTest server or VM, each with scalable subscriber loads and transaction rates. In this mode the Tsp interfaces of up to 1000 independent nodes may be simultaneously simulated. The nodes are fully independent and their subscriber configurations may also be independent, overlap, or be duplicated.
