Role assigned to a socket, only relevant to connection oriented protocols.

  Defaults to server on server-type node interfaces, and client on client-type node interfaces

DESCRIPTION
client Client mode interfaces initiate the transport connection to the peer (active mode).
server Server mode interfaces wait for a transport connection from the peer (passive mode).
